Jonah Bolden and FMP reached the Serbian league finals against Crvena Zvezda, but the young Australian forward will not play against his possible next team in order to work out in the States for the upcoming draft. Bolden who left UCLA and became a professional in Serbia, signed a contract with FMP which is practically the farm team of Crvena Zvezda. With FMP beating Partizan in the semifinals Bolden will not play against Zvezda, which already has a contract with him. On the contrary, as Serbian journalist Djordje Matic reports, he will leave on Monday for the States. Bolden is projected to be a second round draft pick. Austin Ainge, director of player personnel for the Boston Celtics, was present on Friday at the game between Partizan and FMP. In the possible scenario of Bolden getting drafted in the second round and then stashed in Europe, Crvena Zvezda will have the chance to use him in the upcoming season and the young power forward will make his EuroLeague debut. According to the official announcement: “Former UCLA University and FMP player signed a new two-year contract in accordance with agreement made with Jonah Bolden when he was arriving to Serbia and signed with FMP”. Of course the deal includes NBA out clauses.

As Pekovic explained: “Ater nearly two years that I spent as the president of BC Partizan, I decided to resign. When in the fall of 2015 the club was in a situation that is very well known to all, I accepted the responsibility and come back with a firm desire to re-lay the foundations of Partizan, hoping that the club would eventually become again what Europe remembers, a powerhouse. The task was not easy. First and foremost, the club could not function, having a 6,5 million euros debt”. Pekovic put money from his own pocket, according to him the debt has been reduced to 4,5 million euros, but he does not have any more the time to be the president: “At this moment I am no longer able to dedicate 24 hours a day to Partizan. I decided to act responsibly and in the only way I think is right. That means to resign and let someone else be the president who will able to devote 100% to the club. From my part, I will continue to help the club as much as I can and as far as my successor as president is requiring”.

Ranko Simovic signed a four-year contract, the first of his professional career with Crvena Zvezda, per the official announcement of the club. The 1999-born wing already belonged to the U18 Red Star. He averaged 7 points and 7 rebounds in the 2017 ANGT Tournament in Istanbul. The Podgorica-born Simovic has also been a member of the the Serbian national team youth squads and participated in the 2016 U18 European Championship.
