PEDRO PROMISED REGULAR UNITED ROLE
Louis van Gaal has promised Pedro a regular role alongside Wayne Rooney and Memphis Depay in a new-look front three for Manchester United this season, reports the Daily Telegraph.
Barcelona coach Luis Enrique would prefer to keep the forward at the Nou Camp, but the 28-year-old has a £22million release clause in his contract and apparently wants to move to Old Trafford.
The Sun claim a United delegation led by Ed Woodward were 'thrashing out a deal' with Barca last night, and although the Telegraph suggests the Premier League club will not make an official offer until Angel Di Maria completes his move to Paris Saint-Germain, Pedro is likely to be saying his goodbyes to Barca fans and team-mates in Wednesday night's friendly against Roma.
WEST HAM RAISE HERNANDEZ OFFER
West Ham raised their offer for Javier Hernandez last night, The Times reports, after experiencing problems obtaining a work permit for Raul Jiminez, who they had agreed to sign on loan from Atletico Madrid
The Hammers' new bid for Hernandez is worth £11.9million, according to the Daily Express, with the east London club hoping that is close to Manchester United's valuation of a player who has been publicly promised playing time by Louis van Gaal but may find his chances limited as the Red Devils close on Pedro.
DE BRUYNE MOVE LOOKING LIKELY
Manchester City are 'increasingly confident' of signing Wolfsburg midfielder Kevin De Bruyne, according to the Daily Mirror.
Wolfsburg officials have stressed on several occasions that they want to keep De Bruyne and do not need money from his sale, but they have failed to convince the 24-year-old to sign a new contract and have apparently now made it known to City that they will listen to offers.
The German club want £50million, but City 'believe there is room for negotiation' and, willing to bide their time to complete the deal, are hoping to eventually agree a fee of around £38million.

The Argentina international had already been fined two weeks' wages by Van Gaal for failing to meet up with United on their recent US pre-season tour.
