The Heat grab more rebounds when he sits as well: 80 percent of defensive rebounds without Whiteside versus 76 percent with him..

Why? Whiteside apparently doesn't know -- or doesn't care -- that the opposing center is the biggest threat to grab offensive boards, and that the most important job of any center, after a shot goes into the air, is making sure that opponent has no clear path to the basket for a rebound.Instead of boxing out, Whiteside appears to want the rebound for himself, according to my video review of Whiteside's play. This boosts his totals but costs his teammates rebounds. At the same time, opposing centers actually see a bump in their rebounding numbers against Whiteside, who is often just ball-watching once the shot goes up.

It's a similar story with the block numbers. Whiteside seems more concerned about getting his individual block numbers up than keeping the opponent from scoring. Many times he will leave his man to "help" a teammate and rack up a potential block, even if his teammate is in good defensive position.So what happens? If Whiteside doesn't get the blocked shot (and he usually doesn't), the now double-teamed player often finds Whiteside's man free under the basket. Or if the shot goes up, Whiteside is completely out of position to grab the rebound.Either way, the opposing team has an easier time grabbing offensive boards, and with no rim protector in sight, has no trouble putting the ball immediately in the basket.

Whiteside's real plus-minus (RPM) tells part of the story, as he's currently ranked 31st among centers. And in truth, his RPM is likely to be even lower in the future, as the credit received for blocks and rebounds is overwhelmed by his negative on-off numbers

Hombre, la toma de decisión para ir a la ayuda no, pero enseñar a un jugador a bloquear al oponente debe de ser lo mas fácil de entrenar en el baloncesto. También hay que tener en cuenta que esta como en su segundo o tercer año real, hay carros de experiencia por recoger.
Además, el impacto brutal que tiene en intimidación esta ahí, por lo menos a la prueba visual.
Lo que esta claro es que no es un jugador aun completo y hay que trabajar con el, pero quien haga la inversión supongo que le va a poner trabajo.

Hubo un periodista que criticó que Whiteside no daba una asistencia ni pagándole, y el propio Whiteside le contestó que era difícil dar asistencias cuando está el 90% de las veces volando por los aires para recibir un lob. Si es que hay cada fichaje en los medios....

Las estadisticas de Hassan Whiteside estan muy bien... pero si todos los partidos fueran Boston contra Miami Tyler Zeller seria jugador del partido de las estrellas y mejor jugador de la temporada
Curioso lo poco que aguanta Whiteside los bloqueos de los exteriores en ataque, le podrian pitar mas faltas por moverse antes de tiempo
Cualquier equipo que quiera competir deberia huir de Whiteside como C titular...

Hacia tiempo que no veia un partido nuestro. Estoy "disfrutando" de nuestro show frente a los celtics.
Estoy flipando con wade, se esta tirando cada mandarina, que es como para darle con una sarten en la cabeza hasta quedarse sin fuerzas. Toda ocasion de abrir una mini brecha, en ese mismo ataque el tio se juega una chuza y los celtics nos anotan en la siguiente jugada.

Y otra cosa. Tenemos a dragic totalmente enrachado, es el jugador que nos mantiene con vida en el tercer cuarto y spo lo sienta 6 minutos del ultimo cuarto. Sabeis quien hace de base en 5-6 ataques seguidos?? el señor mcroberts

Ah, de nada le sirve a witheside saltar como un mono a poner un tapon detras de otro, si el resto se duerme y nos cojen todos los puñeteros rebotes, dandoles segundas e incluso terceras oportunidades de meter canasta.

Lo mejor que puede hacer Miami es buscar un C en la FA y dejar que otro cometa el error de darle millones y la titularidad a Hassan
La gerencia lo tiene dificil para renovar la plantilla

Efectivamente, Hassan sale con la segunda unidad, aunque luego juegue minutos de titular

1º en tapones (3.9)
1º en defensive rating (93.0)
2º en FG% (61.7%)
4º en rebotes (11.5)

todo esto jugando menos de 30 minutos por partido.

Es una máquina de jugador, me recuerda tanto a Theo Ratliff...aunque más alto y fuerte, pero no rehuye a nada este chaval.

Desde luego, el que le de la pasta el año que viene, se lleva una canelita. Y va a tener panoja eh? Yo creo que de muchas franquicias además.

Si Duncan se retira y también Ginobili, si yo fuese Pop le pondria la pasta, aunque no se si le llegará. Boston seguro que le meterá pasta, también Charlotte, posiblemente Indiana, obviamente vosotros, Portland también, Chicago si se van Pau y Noah puede ser un buen sitio para el, otro sitio puede ser Dallas, también Lakers, también Rockets si se va Howard, también lo veo en NOLA si quitan a Asik de encima...no se, es que me mola mucho.

A mi me gustaría para los Wolves si al final apostamos por KAT de 4, pero debería salir tanto KG como Pekovic para que este llegue, pero sería un pasote.
