Y Meepo, de Holiday no esperamos un rendimiento inmediato como no lo esperábamos de Thaddeus Young o Marreese Speights. Pero si progresa como lo están haciendo estos tenemos equipo para largo.

Pff esque este año en la ncaa no lo ha hehco muy alla anotando, en las summer league esta muy mal y en la nba este año a emjor no puede ir. Y si se os va miller y teneis a un base pensado para el futuro ¿Quien va a dirigir al equipo?

En su año en la NCAA ha estado flojo y en su primera summer league nada del otro mundo. O sea, que por ahora clavado a Thaddeus y Marreese.

El equipo está buscando base, Miller es poco probable que renueve porque pide al menos 3 años y lo que ofrecemos son como máximo 2 para que Holiday crezca en ese tiempo.

Seguro que ficharán a alguien, en estos momentos aún nos faltan un base veterano, un interior veterano y un escolta tirador preferiblemente joven.

Lou lo que tiene que hacer es dejar de tirar esos tiros desesperantes que se saca siempre de 5 metros, que son los que le acaban ensuciando siempre las estadísicas una barbaridad. Hace dos años en la que campaña en la que despegara definitivamente no se cascaba para nada tantos.

La mecánica la tiene, ahora tiene que trabajar, trabajar y trabajar.

Que envidia. ¿Y te dejan llevar cámara de fotos si te sientas en primera fila? A mi al minuto 2 se dan cuenta que soy de pueblo, iría de cateto total.

Un colega mío estuvo hace meses de viaje por New York, Boston y Toronto y en los 3 sitios fue al basket y hizo unos videos guapísimos. Pero al desgraciao no le dio por acercarse a Philly.

The chances of free-agent guard Andre Miller returning to the 76ers appear to be decreasing with each passing day. In a chat with reporters at the Orlando Pro Summer League on Wednesday, team president Ed Stefanski said the Sixers and Miller remain "far apart" in both years and money. The 33-year-old Miller and agent Andy Miller are apparently asking for three years and $30 million, while the Sixers are believed to have offered two years and $16 million. "They're looking for a better offer from other places," Stefanski said. "Right now, we're in the mode to see if there's a sign-and-trade that makes sense for both sides." Bucks County Courier Times

Stefanski said he had contacted "a couple, but not a lot" to inquire about a sign-and-trade. "Andy Miller is canvassing the league, trying to see if there's a sign-and-trade that's possible. I've talked to a couple teams, but I wouldn't say anything is imminent." As for the possibility of a rumored sign-and-trade deal with the Trail Blazers involving Miller, a source said there "never was (any substance to it) on their (the Blazers') part." Bucks County Courier Times

"We have made an offer to Andre but they're looking for a better offer from other places," the Sixers' general manager said yesterday. "I'd say right now we're in the mode of looking for a sign-and-trade that makes sense for both sides . . . I'd say we're far apart." Years? Money? "It's both," Stefanski said. Dalembert watches teammates in Orlando Summer League

Samuel Dalembert, seemingly paying little attention to the various rumors and speculation that he might be traded, showed up at the Orlando Summer Pro League yesterday and said he would be back today to watch the 76ers/New Jersey Nets joint squad in its finale against the Boston Celtics.

"I'm a Sixer until the day I'm not," Dalembert said in a telephone conversation with the Daily News.

He said he came, in part, to congratulate Eddie Jordan on becoming the Sixers coach and to meet with him.

"I think we had a great talk," Dalembert said. "We went over a lot of things. I also came to see [teammate] Marreese Speights, because I had told him I wanted to see him kill people in the summer league."

Jrue Holiday impresses scouts beyond his numbers

Although Jrue Holiday's numbers at this Orlando Pro Summer League might appear unimpressive, most NBA scouts remain impressed.

Through four games, Holiday is averaging 8.8 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.75 assists, 1.75 steals, 3.5 turnovers, and 0.8 blocks a game, hardly overwhelming numbers for the 76ers' first-round draft pick.

Yet there is something about his play, his fundamentally sound outside shot, his solid ball handling, his aggressive, on-balance defense that has many NBA insiders believing the Sixers got lucky when the 19-year-old dropped to the 17th pick.

"If you're Philly and he drops to you, it's a no-brainer," one NBA scout said.

The consensus is that while Holiday is more a "project" than a "step-in-and-play" guy, he has the physical tools to become an NBA starter and could contribute 12-15 minutes a game this coming season.

"He looks like he belongs," said another scout.

"He makes passes you can't teach," said a third. "And in this league, when everyone is worried about their next shot, he would be a fun guy to play with."

Sure, Holiday is committing errors: In one sequence late in yesterday afternoon's 83-62 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, Holiday dribbled too much, tried to get to the middle, and then lost the ball in traffic. A few seconds later, he caught the ball on the sideline, his heel already out of bounds.

But there are better moments - a steal at midcourt and an effortless dunk - and what becomes clear is his easy ability to part with the basketball if it's the right pass, his understanding of angles as he draws away defenders, then, at just the right second, feeding a bounce pass in stride to an open teammate.

In the first quarter, Holiday passed up an open three-pointer from just off the top of the key. Instead, he took one dribble to the left, the defender recovered, and Holiday picked up his dribble, nowhere to go.

An anomaly in these proving-ground leagues, Holiday's was a mistake of letting a scoring opportunity pass rather than forcing a shot that wasn't there.

"Shoot that, Jrue," whispered one scout, more to himself than anyone else.

"He's only 19, he has so much to learn."

The consensus is that Holiday is doing a little too much thinking, not enough reacting. On the last play of the game, Holiday curled along the three-point line, caught a pass, and immediately lifted into his shot. It was his only made three-pointer of the day.

The shot was more reaction than thought.

What might Holiday's future look like this season? Should he play? How much? Might he start?

"He'll play," said one scout. "Starting? That would be asking a lot of the kid."

Eddie Jordan likely to hire Randy Ayers as aide

According to a source close to the situation, 76ers head coach Eddie Jordan is expected to fill the last spot on his coaching staff with former Sixers head coach Randy Ayers.

Jordan's staff already includes longtime assistant Mike O'Koren, who was with Jordan during his tenure with the Washington Wizards, and Aaron McKie and Jimmy Lynam, both assistants under Maurice Cheeks and Tony DiLeo last season.

Ayers, 51, coached the Sixers for 52 games during the 2003-04 season, going 21-31 before being fired midseason and replaced by Chris Ford.

Ayers spent the 2008-09 season as an assistant coach with the Wizards.

Before being named Sixers head coach in June of 2003, succeeding Larry Brown, Ayers spent six seasons as Brown's top assistant, helping the Sixers to five playoff appearances and a trip to the 2001 NBA Finals.

Under Brown, Ayers implemented the team's defensive schemes.

After his stint as Sixers head coach, and before joining the Wizards, Ayers spent two seasons as an assistant with the Orlando Magic.

Before coming to Philadelphia, Ayers spent eight seasons as the head coach at Ohio State and the previous six as an assistant.
